COMPENSATING MATCH

This starter switch powers the motor coils with reduced voltage at start-up. Voltage reduction is done by connecting an autotransformer in series with the coils. After starting, the motor coils receive nominal voltage. This type of switch is the opposite of the star triangle starter switch, because the motor connection is always the same and the input voltage varies.
