DISCONNECT SWITCH NH00 / NH01
333-NH-SITE
Description

The load-disconnector switch has its mechanism and electrical contacts designed for line interruption with or without an electric current circulation. This type of switch is equipped with an “arc extinguishing chamber”. It is an on-load opening device. It is the simplest device, which is only applicable to low power engines. The electric arc that occurs when closing and opening causes wear on its contacts.

These switches do not allow automatic shutdown due to overload. Associated with fuses, they offer protection against short circuits, but do not allow remote control.

The load-free disconnector switch was designed to operate without load, that is, without the circulation of an electric current in its contacts. In this case, the contact switching time depends on the speed that the operator imposes at the time of the maneuver.

The disconnector switch is a (mechanical) switching device that ensures, in the open position, an isolation distance that meets specified safety requirements. A disconnector must be capable of closing or opening a circuit when the established or interrupted current is negligible or when there is no significant variation in voltage between the terminals of each of its poles. It is also capable of conducting current under normal circuit conditions, and also conducting currents for a specified time under abnormal circuit conditions such as short circuits.
